Firm linked to Scots hotel where three people died in horror fire hit with liquidation

Sisters Donna Janse Van Rensburgh, 44, and Sharon McLean, 47, and Keith Russell, 38, all died after a blaze ripped through the New County Hotel in perth.

A company connected to a hotel where three people died in a horror blaze has been hit with liquidation. Sisters Donna Janse Van Rensburgh, 44, and Sharon McLean, 47, from Aberdeen, and Keith Russell, 38, from Edinburgh, all died after a fire tore through the New County Hotel in Perth.

More than 60 firefighters and 21 ambulance units were called to the scene in the early hours of January 2 this year, with multiple residents evacuated. Donna’s pet King Charles spaniel, named Joey, also died as a result of the fire.

The hotel was reportedly issued with three health and safety warnings from Perth and Kinross Council a fortnight before the fatal fire struck, Aberdeen Live reports.
