The WA Government is telling homeowners to focus on making sure they have home indemnity insurance.
Following the liquidation of a perth residential builder, Building and Energy Western Australia has told those impacted to get in touch with their insurer.
The recent collapse of Hillary’s-based Tingey Development Group Pty Ltd has left homeowners in the lurch, with Building and Energy stating anyone affected should talk to QBE about home indemnity insurance.

The liquidated building company had been registered since 2023 as a building contractor, and is still to finish fifteen homes.
They are the third building contractor in WA to go into insolvency in the current financial year.
The Executive Director of Building and Energy WA, Daniel Kearney, said that home indemnity insurance gives security to homeowners during events like this.
“Home indemnity insurance provides financial protection for homeowners in situations such as the insolvency of their builder,” he said.
