The construction industry downturn has claimed another victim after a Perth building company collapsed leaving behind a $50million ‘urban village’ and several unfinished homes in its wake.
Hamlen Homes, which also trades as Metro Homes WA Pty Ltd, folded on Monday, adding to the burgeoning list of collapsed construction companies nationwide.
WA insolvency Solutions was appointed administrator for the company, The West Australian reported.
Hamlen Homes was approved to develop a $50 million urban village in Perth’s East Victoria Park called East & Co before it folded.

The village included 52 individually designed homes with surrounding amenities and attractions.
It was to be located five kilometres from Perth’s CBD.
